At the Cape May County Park & Zoo, we are very proud of our free Zoo and take great care in its well thought out, spacious animal enclosures and our Zoo’s cleanliness. We strive to stay on top of our animal care and exhibition, conservation programs, scientific study, environmental education and public service.
We are now accepting applications for the 2017 season; Seasonal Park Maintenance, Summer Zoo Camp Counselors, Seasonal Education Department. Complete the applications and mail or drop off to the address below.
Seasonal Park Maintenance - Applicants must be Cape May County residents. Park Maintenance is crucial in the day to day operations of the Park and Zoo. We will be hiring suitable and reliable individuals that will be responsible for; trash pickup, grounds keeping, pavilion clean up, light repair work, restroom maintenance and equipment operating. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds. This is a 40 hours per week position for a duration of six months.
Summer Zoo Camp Counselors - The Education Department is seeking enthusiastic, science minded instructors to aid our summer Zoo Camp program. Teachers will have small groups of all ages and assist in all aspects of Camp; from set up, clean up, tours and working with live animal ambassadors. Applicants will need to be able to walk 2-3 miles, carry 20 pounds and be available to work beginning June 9, 2017. The position is 40 hours per week with weekends off and camp runs until August 18, 2017. The deadline to submit an application is March 31, 2017. Submit an application, Attn: Education Department.
Seasonal Education Department – This outgoing person will work directly with the Education Department and Animal Keepers to help organize and execute Summer Zoo Camp, as well as public zoo tours and other programs. Hands-on work with the education animals will also be required. Applicants should be able to work independently and be comfortable speaking with zoo guests of all ages. Working in a zoo can be a very physical job, please be sure that you are capable of doing this type of work. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the field of Education, Animal Behavior, Psychology, Zoology or a related field and Cape May County Residents.
